Book: The Emma Dilemma by Can’t-remember-his/her-name

From about the ages of seven to ten, I used to get a book called The Emma Dilemma out of the library at least once a month, purely because I liked the title. I can’t remember anything else about it (including who it was by or what happened in it) but I do remember I loved that name. And over the years it’s provided a lot in the way of nickname fodder.
