Web and email addresses

Web and email addresses

No ‘http://’ at the start of web addresses. And don’t include the ‘www.’ (so our address is thewriter.com). Roman (which means no italics). Same with email addresses—no italics needed.

Talking about websites, email or the internet

Website is all one word.

The word email doesn’t have a hyphen in it.

If you’re writing about the internet it should have a lower case ‘i’.

If a web or email address comes at the end of a sentence, it should have a full stop after it. Even if it’s at the end of a paragraph.
